Our physiotherapy in Perth is focused on rehabilitation and injury prevention
At Trained Physio and Fitness, we help you to diagnose and treat your pain while assisting with any movement restrictions you may have. Our goal is to help you feel better and prevent further damage.
We understand how your career, daily work and lifestyle can create repeated musculoskeletal strain which develops into chronic conditions and pain in your body.
Our physiotherapy clinic located in East Perth focuses on treating your injuries at the source while preventing the chance of any future damage to your body. We pride ourselves on building a trusted relationship with our patients.
We’ll work with you to help you feel better, on your terms. With extended consultations, you won’t feel rushed and our holistic approach will treat your existing issues while helping to avoid future injuries and pain.
We tailor our treatment based on your individual needs to help you recover strongly, move better and achieve your goals. Our experienced professionals will recommend the best course of action for optimum health outcomes, so your physio treatment strategy may include a range of targeted interventions such as remedial massage therapy, exercise physiology, dry needling, sports injury treatments etc.
Our experienced physiotherapists help ease pain and movement challenges. Our extended consultations give us the chance to take our time, listen and delve deeper into your injury and tap into long-term issues or causes of pain that need addressing.
After assessing you, our physiotherapists will discuss the most appropriate treatment. A treatment plan may include injury prevention strategies, manual therapy and exercise programs.
You do not need to be an athlete to have physio! We work with clients from a wide range of careers, industries and sports.
When you meet your physiotherapist for the first time, you can have total peace-of-mind that they have your best interests at heart.
Our initial consultations are 60 minutes long, so you won’t feel rushed. First, the physio will undertake an in-depth assessment of your situation to identify the likely cause of the injury and pain and to make an informed diagnosis. They will chat to you about your symptoms and do a thorough physical examination so that they can plan an appropriate treatment strategy, personalised for you.
The physio will explain everything in plain, easy-to-understand language (no medical jargon!) and will happily answer questions and allay any concerns. They will also discuss their proposed treatment plan.
Once you’ve agreed the way forward, your physiotherapist will start your treatment there and then.
If appropriate, your physio will also discuss a home treatment plan during your first consult. You may be given exercises and tools to do on your own to facilitate your healing.
Depending on your unique situation, the physio may also recommend further sessions or additional consultations with specialist healthcare practitioners. Our Perth Physiotherapy practice has close working relationships with a number of specialists including sports doctors, radiologists, occupational therapists and exercise physiologists, so we will find the best way forward for you.
You don’t need a doctor’s referral to make an appointment with our Perth Physiotherapy practice unless your situation relates to a claim for Workers’ Compensation, a motor vehicle accident (MVA) claim, Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) or Medicare claim.
The cost of a physiotherapy consultation depends on a number of factors including whether or not you have private medical cover and your eligibility for rebates (eg a Workers’ Compensation claim). If you don’t belong to a health fund, please discuss the cost and a potential payment plan with us.
If your General Practitioner (GP) has put you on a Chronic Disease Management Programme, you may be eligible for a Medicare Rebate. A referral from your GP is required for this.
There’s no hard and fast rule about when you should visit a physio or when you should seek medical help from a doctor, but if you are struggling with a chronic, long-term condition or have an acute injury from playing sport or doing physical exercise, a physiotherapist can provide qualified, customised advice and a treatment plan.
Your physio will need access to the problematic area/s of your body in order to make an accurate diagnosis and to administer treatment – so you should wear loose fitting, comfortable clothes.
It’s simple and easy to make a claim on your private health cover. We can process your claim at our offices immediately after your consultation, or you can lodge the claim online yourself, via the post or in person at your provider.
The number of sessions depends on your diagnosis and your treatment plan. Sometimes, a single consultation with DIY exercises at home is sufficient. Your physio will advise you of their recommendations upfront – so there won’t be any unexpected surprises!
Our physiotherapists take a holistic approach to your healing. They use their heads, hearts and hands to identify the cause and source of your injury and pain, and use massage therapy and exercises to enable healing. Depending on your injury, the physio may recommend other treatment techniques such as myofascial trigger point dry needling.
Physios are specifically trained in musculoskeletal health and our team is fully qualified with years of experience.
Everyone is welcome at our Perth Physiotherapy practice – and we pride ourselves in our personalised approach. We tailor a treatment plan to each individual patient’s needs and have our own on-site rehab centre and 24-hour gym.
Yes. During our consultations, the physio will work out a treatment plan which is very likely to involve a personalised at-home exercise plan. They will show you how to do the recommended exercises properly for maximum benefit. We also have an on-site rehab centre at our East Perth physiotherapy practice as well as a 24/7 gym.
Everyone is different and individual bodies heal differently, so it isn’t possible to put an exact time-frame on recovery. However, our experienced physios work hard to help you recover from injury and achieve pain-free movement as quickly as possible.
Your physio will explain everything in detail at your consultation and give you easy-to-follow instructions if you need to do any at-home exercises afterwards. Remember, our friendly team is always available if you need to check anything about your treatment plan.
