How Does Dry Needling Work?

During your treatment, a fine, sterile filament needle is inserted into a myofascial trigger point or taut area within the muscle. The tiny injury created stimulates the repair of damaged tissue with new, healthy tissue.

Also known as myofascial trigger point dry needling, our trained physiotherapists will use it as an effective treatment for acute injuries and muscle spasms or imbalances. It can relieve a range of problems including:

  • Tension headaches and migraines
  • Back and neck pain
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Pelvic girdle pain
  • Knee osteoarthritis
  • Lateral elbow pain
  • Shoulder conditions
  • Joint dysfunction
  • Muscular tightness
  • Shin splints
  • Sporting injuries

Our Physiotherapists take a holistic approach to treating our clients.  We believe in not only treating the structure that is injured, but in looking at a person as a whole being for the best outcomes.
